Pilot Flying J will leverage the GasBuddy Business Pages software-as-a-service platform to continue its mission of reinventing the travel center experience

BOSTON (March 14, 2018) – GasBuddy, the only smartphone app connecting drivers with their Perfect Pit Stop, today announced that Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers in North America, has selected GasBuddy Business Pages, the smartphone app company’s B2B Retailer Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), to help drive excellence across more than 750 Pilot Flying J retail locations.

To kick off the relationship, Pilot Flying J will offer GasBuddy members the opportunity to win free fuel in a daily giveaway from March 19 – March 25. Members that visit a Pilot or Flying J location during the giveaway and submit a gas price will be prompted to enter the contest. Entrants have the opportunity to win a $100 Pilot Flying J gift card for the first six days of the contest. On the seventh day, participants will enter to win a grand prize of free fuel for a year (a $2,000.00 value).

GasBuddy Business Pages is the B2B SaaS platform built specifically for the complex and highly competitive, $650 billion retail fuel and convenience store industry that enables marketers and operations personnel alike to create a Perfect Pit Stop for consumers. This platform provides the ability to:

  • Gain market insight, not only on the ranking in the industry, but how customers interact with the brand via customer engagement stats, footfall trends, demographic data, and competitor station offerings.
  • Take control and manage business listings, and critical customer-facing store information. With GBBP, retailers can elevate the brand and capture customer attention with verified location information as well as amenities and offerings that showcase the business.
  • Maintain store performance with respect to customer service and experience. GBBP enables retailers to monitor real-time, industry-specific ratings and reviews and respond to inquiries that require action or attention.
  • Directly market products to GasBuddy consumers, such as loyalty programs and other incentives.
  • “We understand that consumers have many options of places to fuel or shop and that more than ever people are making decisions with their smartphones” said Pilot Flying J’s Tyler Tanaka, director of marketing. “GasBuddy Business Pages gives us an effective way to showcase our Travel Center offerings such as fresh food, free WiFi and clean bathrooms to millions who interact with the GasBuddy platform.”
With an analytical dashboard that combines insights from millions of ratings and reviews, location foot traffic, competitive benchmarking and actionable market data, fuel retailers and convenience stores now have a powerful way to precisely understand business performance at a site level so they can create new strategies to grow market share.

“The fuel convenience store space has been growing year over year, with a record-number of locations and in-store offerings,” said Greg Fox, executive vice president of retail services at GasBuddy. “With GasBuddy Business Pages, this massive market now has access to actionable insights — connecting the online and offline world — and the ability to drill down on data unavailable elsewhere to make critical business decisions.”

For budget-minded drivers, GasBuddy is the travel and navigation app that is used by more North American drivers to save money on gas than any other. Unlike fuel retailer apps, as well as newer apps focused on fuel savings, GasBuddy covers 150,000+ gas stations in North America, giving drivers 27 ways to save on fuel. That’s why GasBuddy has been downloaded nearly 90 million times – more than any other travel and navigation app focused on gas savings.
