Since the launch of the Car Profile feature in February we have been helping drivers keep track of important information about their four-wheeler like recalls and fuel usage.
Another aspect of the feature is the opportunity to type in the name of your car. Sure, you probably say your car’s name on a daily basis, but a place to actually write it out and see it? Now that’s making it official.
Since today is National Name Your Day, our data scientists looked at some of the most popular names from our GasBuddy users. Overall, here are the top five most common names:
- My Car
- Truck
- My Truck
- RV
There is nothing wrong with being straight-forward. Here are the top names that were less literal, with a bit more personality:
- Betty
- The Beast (woah!)
- Lola
- Clifford
- Stella
Another theme we noticed is naming the car based on the color:
- Blue
- Black Betty
- Ruby
- Pearl
- Silver Bullet
