With college students and families cruising the nation’s highways for spring break, GasBuddy has partnered with USA TODAY to reveal the top rated gas station stops along popular road trip routes throughout the U.S., making them the best bet when drivers need to stop for fuel, bathrooms, coffee and snacks on the road.
According to GasBuddy’s 2017 Road Trip Habits survey, more than 50 percent of travelers go into gas station convenience store at least once during their road trip to purchase items like snacks or coffee or to use the restrooms.
“There are more than 130,000 gas stations in America, and they are not all created equal. Travelers are looking for one stop to recharge during a road trip, and the last thing they want is a negative experience,” says Frank Beard, convenience store and retail trends analyst at GasBuddy. “Understanding this sentiment, GasBuddy has created an experience where with just a few taps on their phone, consumers will know every aspect of a station before they even arrive including the cleanliness of the restrooms and the quality of customer service, making checking ratings and reviews a no-brainer when it comes to picking the best pit stops on your drive.”
GasBuddy compiled millions of gas station ratings and reviews from their mobile app to find the top-rated places to stop along five of the most popular road trip routes in the United States, including the Pacific Coast Highway, I-95, I-75, Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway.
