BOSTON — (May 17, 2018) — GasBuddy today announced that it has expanded its sales team with five strategic hires: Jordan Grossman, previously at Waze has joined as executive vice president to lead the company’s advertising sales efforts; Jamie Albano, previously at Freckle IoT, as vice president of data sales and licensing; Suzanne Lampert, previously at Cardlytics, as vice president of East Coast sales; and two new sales directors, Erich Berendt, previously AdColony, as senior director of East Coast sales; and Jennifer Jones, previously at Megan Media, as director of sales.

Grossman joins from Waze, the driving navigation app acquired by Google in 2013, where he served as the head of North American sales. Grossman was the first U.S. sales hire and grew the Waze sales team to more than 40 employees across 10 offices. At Waze, Grossman developed and scaled ongoing campaigns for brands like Coca-Cola and Phillips 66 to Dunkin’ Donuts and Mondelez.

“The convenience store industry is the only growing sector in retail with more than forty million Americans making a purchase every single day,” said Grossman. “GasBuddy is uniquely positioned in the consumer journey reaching volumes of value-seeking consumers, all with high-purchase intent, planning an imminent trip to the convenience store. There’s a massive opportunity for brands to own and influence the path to purchase. I look forward to working with this growing team, and building engaging experiences for both users and brands.”

Albano, in this newly created position as VP of data sales and licensing, will help grow the customer base in business channels utilizing the 800 million daily data points collected through the GasBuddy platform, which includes footfall, location, ratings and reviews, and waypoint data. Prior to GasBuddy, Jamie was the first U.S. hire at Freckle IoT, a location analytics start-up, where he was tasked with building out the data acquisition and monetization strategy for both U.S. and Canada. Previously, he was the co-founder of an e-commerce company that was later acquired by a major online retailer of home goods.

Lampert comes to GasBuddy from Cardlytics, a purchase-based intelligence platform, where she was most recently the head of East Coast media sales and helped opened the first NYC office. An expert in first-party data and attribution, she was responsible for developing online-to-offline marketing and measurement solutions. Lampert brings more than 15 years of experience, holding multiple leadership sales roles.

Berendt joins as senior director of East Coast sales. He previously held sales and management roles at AdColony, where he helped brands create high-quality mobile experiences that drive meaningful outcomes via unique combinations of data, technology and creativity. Prior to AdColony, Berendt spent a decade at NBCUniversal on the NBC News team, focused on large 360 sponsorships.

Also joining the team is Jones as director of sales. Prior to GasBuddy, Jones was at Megan Media, theAudience and SpotXchange, bringing with her more than 10 years of experience that range from creating high-tech programmatic solutions to custom influencer content campaigns.

GasBuddy has a full suite of multi-channel media solutions where brands have the opportunity to reach and activate drivers at the point of purchase, on a national and hyper-local level. With comprehensive first-party location intelligence solutions, GasBuddy allows brands to bridge the gap between online-and-offline, and gain a deeper understanding of their consumers. GasBuddy’s unique user base and position in the market caters to key categories including automotive, consumer packaged goods, quick service restaurants and travel.
