Car Profile: Find out if your car has been recalled

GasBuddy recently introduced a new feature called Car Profile that will tell you instantly — and notify you in the future — if your car has been recalled. In 2016, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration administered more than 900 safety recall campaigns that affected 53 million cars and trucks.

Was one of those vehicles yours?

Since your safety is at stake, as well as the health of vehicle, you want an easy and reliable way to get important safety recalls information. Many vehicle owners rely on snail mail to provide them with recall notifications, but if you’ve moved or purchased a used car, snail mail may not be the most reliable way. Car Profile is fast, easy and you’ll know whether you’re car has been recalled immediately.

Get started by accessing the new “My Car” section located under “Profile” in the GasBuddy app. After entering your vehicle’s year, make and model or it’s VIN number, you’ll immediately know if your car has been recalled and be notified of future recalls.

Car Profile is part of series of new capabilities GasBuddy is launching this year that will complement our popular in-app tools including:

  • Real-time fuel prices
  • Station ratings and reviews
  • Pay with GasBuddy – saving you money on every gallon of gas you purchase
  • Trips feature – telling you when you are guilty of fuel-inefficient driving

GasBuddy is a company that connects drivers with their Perfect Pit Stop. As the leading source for crowdsourced, real-time fuel prices at more than 150,000 gas station convenience stores in the U.S., Canada and Australia, millions of drivers use the GasBuddy app and website every day to find gas station convenience stores based on fuel prices, location and ratings/reviews. GasBuddy’s first-of-its-kind fuel savings program, Pay with GasBuddy, has saved Americans more than $4.5 million at the pumps since its launch in 2017.
