Because our free app is a toolkit designed to help you save, people use the GasBuddy app many different ways for many different reasons.

It all starts with first downloading the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to explore the in-app features available to you, like our handy gas finder to check prices before arriving at the pump.

You can help update gas prices in exchange for points, as well as suggest station amenities and review gas stations. We offer in-app challenges that can get you more points than the base daily price reporting amount of 1000 points (you can get 200 points for your first five reported prices per day).

Points for reporting gas prices and completing challenges are then used to enter our daily prize draw raffle for free gas.

You can also create a car profile to track mileage using our fuel log book. Combined with Drives Powered by Root, our exclusive trip tracking feature, you can see where you can improve your driving habits and drive more efficiently. Drives Powered by Root could even make you eligible for discounted car insurance (USA only, insurance offers not available in CA).

To increase your savings, you can join our free Pay with GasBuddy card (USA only) and earn savings by applying for and using our gas card.

When you pay at the pump with our gas card, you can get discounts up to 25¢/gal. You can also earn GasBack (cashback, but for gas) when you shop from our list of retailers.

With the app you can easily track your savings using the card.

Unfortunately no, the GasBuddy app does not show RV friendly stations at this time, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know where they are!

Currently, our Pay with GasBuddy card is needed in order to make a fuel purchase at the pump with one exception: A mobile pay feature is available for Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores.
