As 2016 comes to an end, we look back at all the incredible things that happened this year:
GasBuddy launched in Australia, our first international market
Our newly redesigned app offered trip-saving features, including enhanced station filters and ratings to find the best gas station convenience store around you
GasBuddy’s logo got a clean, slick makeover, perfect “for the road ahead”
We surpassed 60 million mobile downloads
We gave more than $65,000 worth of gas to our members via daily gas drawings, tank takeovers and bonus events
So, what do 2.5 billion gas price reports mean?
- On average, there are 13 price reports per station per day (at over 120,000 stations!).
- More than 983 MILLION gigabytes of data have been transferred to report prices (983,333 terabytes). That is enough data to stream 160 million hours of your favorite TV series on Netflix.
- This year alone, we have received more than 600 million reports.
With the new Station Ratings and Reviews feature, the community has been a huge help to fellow drivers everywhere looking for clean bathrooms or a great cup of coffee. Because of you, we are all able to be smarter shoppers, saving money and getting the best service while on the road.
To celebrate and give ‘tanks’, we will be issuing a special “I Survived 2016” four-part challenge running from December 22 through January 7. Completing all the levels gets you an exclusive badge—and the chance to earn an extra 3,200 GasBuddy points to wrap up 2016!
