City Spotlight: Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul

|

GasBuddy visited the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul to host a Tank Takeover last week! This is where we takeover a gas station for a morning and give away free gas! Sounds fun, huh?! Our partner Kwik Trip was the ultimate host and we had a great time meeting many Minnesotans.

The average gas price in the area is $2.20 per gallon, which is fantastic because there are so many amazing things to see and do in the Twin Cities. You’ll want to gas up and hit all these incredible spots. Here are some favorites from our visit.

Enjoy these great places next time you are driving around the Twin Cities!

Guthrie Theater

This stunning building is both architecturally significant and is the heart of the area’s theater scene. It includes the Amber Box (pictured to the left) which offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline from the 9th floor and the Endless Bridge which overlooks the Mississippi River. Both spaces are cantilevers that impressively extend from the main building.

Endless Bridge

US Bank Stadium

Check out a game, concert or event at this state-of-the-art stadium. It’s the home of the Minnesota Vikings football team and the 2018 Super Bowl. This architectural site is worth experiencing! The clear roof makes you feel like you are outdoors but without being exposed to those chilly Minnesota winters.

Stone Arch Bridge

This granite bridge’s 23 arches can be seen from the Guthrie Theater and span across the mighty Mississippi River for the enjoyment of walkers and cyclists.

Mill Ruins Park

Located near the Stone Arch Bridge, you can scoot over and take in some local history of the flour mills, the city and region.

Butcher & the Boar

This popular eatery is located right in downtown Minneapolis. Come hungry because everything on the menu is mouth-watering and delicious, especially if you are a lover of BBQ and Bourbon.

Day Block Brewing Company

Sit back and relax while enjoying a flight of their great beer. We recommend their Devils on Horseback, too. Delish!

For budget-minded drivers, GasBuddy is the travel and navigation app that is used by more North American drivers to save money on gas than any other. Unlike fuel retailer apps, as well as newer apps focused on fuel savings, GasBuddy covers 150,000+ gas stations in North America, giving drivers 27 ways to save on fuel. That’s why GasBuddy has been downloaded nearly 90 million times – more than any other travel and navigation app focused on gas savings.
